Planning application

The Bungalow Cricket Hill Lane Yateley Hampshire GU46 6BG

Granted Hart 22/02103/CA To do Works to Trees in a Con Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

1. Apple Tree - cut to the existing hedge level. We have a very old apple tree in our garden that was poorly cared for by the previous owner so that the canopy is so tall that it is not possible to pick any apples from it. Instead, each summer, when the apples come they rot on the branches and fall on to our garden and our neighbour's garden. This attracts large numbers of wasps, flies and hornets which are a nuisance and pose a health risk to our families. I suffer from inflammatory arthritis and it is not practical for me to pick up falling apples on a daily basis. The tree itself is also unsightly given that it has been badly maintained. Despite removal of ivy it continues to grow and wrap around the trunk. The tree is very old and is weakening. We have been advised by an arborist that the apple tree should be cut to the existing hedge level.

T1. Dawn Redwood - Removal (to include the stump being ground out) It is recommended that the tree be removed and replaced with an appropriately selected tree of suitable ultimate size and form. Removal would eliminate the increasing risk associated with the tree's continued decline and provide an opportunity to establish a replacement tree that can contribute to the site in the longer term." "Based on the current structural assessment and judged level of risk it is recommended that the tree is removed in its entirety as soon as practicable, ideally within 6-9 months." 2.
