Granted Hart 20/01115/CA To do Works to Trees in a Con Area

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

After discussions with a professional arborist we wish to undertake the following work: 1) approximately 50% reduction in height & 20% side reduction of an overgrown bay tree which has grown into an adjacent tree & is encroaching over entrance gate to property 2) reduction in height of eucalyptus to the previous pollarded height 3) removal of tall conifer right against side wall of house that arborist advises should be removed 4) removal of plum tree that is very close to and increasingly overhanging garage block and shed. Its root system is affecting the retaining wall & arborist advises tree should be removed.

Following a strong recommendation from our arborist (J Magowan of JCM Tree Service) we are applying to take down a large conifer completely. This tree has a trunk inclusion & given the tree is leaning towards neighbours' properties the arborist is of the view there is a serious risk of collapse. Attached are 5 photographs of the conifer, 3 of the inclusion & 2 views. At the same time we wish to take 20% off the very large lime that is adjacent to the conifer. It has grown considerably since the last trim some 7 years ago. On the lane side this tree & a small conifer are now getting entangled on overhead power lines & need to be dealt with in that respect also. There are 2 photographs of the lime, one from our garden & one from the lane showing the cable issue. Also attached is a plan of our property and boundary, showing the location of the trees. Given the worry about the conifer risk we would be grateful for an early decision.
