T1: Eucalyptus tree at 83 Fortis Green The eucalyptus tree is leaning towards the adjoining property at No. 32 Western Road. Approval is sought to lift the lower limb and reduce it back to the boundary fence line only to provide adequate clearance from the neighbouring property. The proposed works are limited to the lower limb extending towards No. 32 Western Road and are intended to improve clearance while retaining the overall form and health of the tree. No additional pruning beyond the boundary fence line reduction is proposed.

Works to trees protected by a TPO. T1) Holm oak - Perform a 20% crown thin to increase light penetration and reduce wind resistance, safeguarding the tree against future storm damage. Remove all epicormic growth and lower suckers up to the main crown break. Prune and clear lateral branches to establish safe clearance distances from both the adjacent highway and building structures. These structural mitigations are necessary because the tree exhibits basal decay, which compromises its load-bearing capacity. Reducing the canopy's "sail effect" lowers structural stress and promotes long-term health and stability T2) Holm oak - Perform a 20% crown thin to increase light penetration and reduce wind resistance, safeguarding the tree against future storm damage. Dawn Redwood. Tree T1 on Sketch Plan. Arboriculturist Conclusion "Given the presence of cracks in the wall of adjacent buildings, and the close proximity of the tree to the buildings, it is recommended that T1 is removed to ground level." Engineer's Conclusion "the best course of action to avoid any further movement on the existing building would be to remove the existing tree and underpin the existing foundation"

Pembury House Nursery, Lansdowne Road, Tottenham, London, N17 9XE

Ginkgo (T1) - fell. Reason: this is a female tree, that drops fruit all over the nursery playground. The children try to eat them, it gets into their clothes, shoes, hands, and all over the class room, creating an extremely unpleasant environment for the children and staff. Replant with another deciduous tree with similar potential size canopy (eg. Norway maple) Sycamore (T2) - Reduce the height of the tree by 4m. Reduce lateral branches in line with this (up to 2.5m). Reason: There is some decay at the base of the tree on the east side, spanning 40% of the circumference of the tree. The bark is flaking from ground level up to 1.5m, and use of the sounding mallet indicates the dysfunctional wood extends at least to the same height. The tree has a full crown, but has had selective branch length reductions in the past. The crown overhangs the nursery playground and neighbouring parking area. Lime x2 (T10 & T11) - Crown raise to 4m, removing epicormic growth. Reason: to remove the branches that touch the shelter to prevent damage.
