Proposal
Eucalyptus tree, back garden, near back of building. Experiencing large cracks to walls for the last year or so, advised by structural engineer that damage likely due to proximity of tree and its roots. Remove tree as soon as possible, before any more dry/hot weather as it could exacerbate the damage.

What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with Hammersmith and Fulham for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Flat Ground Floor, 1 Arminger Road, London, W12 7BA
Fell tree in our Front garden, which is a conifer tree started to grow a few years ago (T1). The tree has grown very fast and it has reached to the top of the two story house which is about 6-7 meters. Our neighbour complained that the tree is blocking the view from their first-floor window. We are also concerned that it might fall on the top of our house or on the road, and cause problems with people on the street as it moves a lot when it's windy. We would also like to cut and remove another three in our front garden, which is a pink plumeria tree planed by the previous flat owner (T2). The tree is planted too close to the house. When it rains, rainwater from the tree goes to our exterior wall causing dump issues and damages. We don't have enough space to place our bins as many trees are planted in the front garden making our front garden looks unorganised.
