Planning application

P/2026/01230/TREE

64 Hurlingham Road, London, SW6 3RQ

Awaiting decision Hammersmith and Fulham Works to Tree(s) in Conservation Area

Proposal

Holm oak (Quercus ilex) tree - back left corner of the garden. Approx 10metres tall Affected badly with oak leaf miners otherwise tree is in good health other than large amounts of deadwood. Proposed work - check for any active nests or habitats within the crown -remove all dead wood throughout the crown -light reduction on the radius of the tree (roughly 0.75m-1.25m) -thin the tree as necessary to allow more airflow through the tree, allow more light through the tree and remove any overlapping or rubbing branches We plan to do the work using a handsaw everywhere possible, to ensure clean cuts to minimise risk of infection. There are also 2 coniferous trees in the garden which we propose to remove deadwood and colliding branches, to again increase airflow.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Hammersmith and Fulham for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
