Awaiting decision Flintshire TCA/000790/26 Trees in Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

The client has a large magnolia situated at the front of the property that is growing into phone wires and into the property, it is also encroaching onto the street. I propose to reduce the height of the tree to below the phone wires, approximately 1-2m to previous reduction points (to the top of the upstairs windows) and spread by 1-2m to keep the tree contained and to prevent future damage from passing vehicles. Works will be carried out to BS3998.

T1 - Sycamore - Crown reduction of up to 20 percent, equating to a maximum height reduction of approximately 2.5 metres, with lateral limb reductions not exceeding 2 metres in the principal crown sectors. This level of pruning is intended to moderate crown spread while avoiding excessive physiological stress, given observed signs of decline in the tree’s condition. Carry out a targeted crown lift by shortening pendulous branches that currently encroach over neighbouring residential properties, establishing a consistent 5 metre clearance above ground level. Remove deadwood exceeding 50mm diameter throughout the crown as part of routine safety and maintenance.
