Proposal
T1 Liquidambar styraciflua - to fell tree as has become too large for its situation at the front of my property 86 Whipton Village Road, the tree is in raised position approximately three feet above the pavement and branches are causing an obstruction to pedestrians and cyclists using the pavement. The tree is causing damage to the retaining wall between my property and the pavement of Whipton Village Road. The tree is also pushing the boundary wall between my property and my neighbours property 84c. The roots are damaging drains under the pavement of Whipton village Road leading to rat holes apearing amongst the roots at the base of the tree. Please see photos enclosed with application.

The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Please see Plan attached. This plan was submitted with a similar application on 7 October 2020. T 1 was felled in 2020. T2 and T3 were pollarded. T2 and T3 require pollarding again because of their proximity to the house. See detail on plan.) T3 is already touching the house and over the roof.

11 Devonshire Place Exeter EX4 6JA
The tree is a Cypress tree located at the front of 11 Devonshire place, to the right hand side when looking at the house. We would like to replace the tree with a native tree species - either a rowan or a cherry - in order to provide flowers for pollinators in the spring/summer and food for birds in the winter. We would like to do the removal in late (~Nov) 2026, well after the bird breeding season, in order to plant the new tree in early 2027 after the last frosts. The tree itself sits at the boundary of a conservation area.

The tree is a silver birch. We would like to carry out "crown reduction" reducing the height of the tree from ~10m to ~7m. Similarly, we would like to reduce the spread of the crown at the rear to reduce the amount of overhang with our rear neighbours. We will keep the left-right spread similar, only carrying out "crown thinning" in this respect to ensure the tree does not block too much light from our neighbours' gardens and our own.

Electricity Distribution Site Parkfield Road Topsham
Mixture of bay and cherry large shrubs to remove, which have become overgrown in the contained area next to the electricity sub station. We have removed what we can so far, but need approval to remove the rest, as they are around 5 inches at waist height. Plan to remove fully as no remedial value where they are located. Approx 20 stems to remove WHAT3WORDS is stow.poetic.skills
