Withdrawn Exeter 23/1185/CAT Works to Trees in a Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Withdrawn before a decision, so it carries no planning weight. A revised scheme can be submitted at any time.

Proposal

There are six trees in the garden of Exe Restaurant, Mary Arches Street, Exeter, running along the side of the wall that borders the old chapel building on the other side (now apartments 22 to 31 The Mint), which are proving to be a problem. They have grown so large that they are blocking the light from nos 22, 23, 24 and 27, but more importantly several branches are brushing on the wall and roof of nos 22 to 31 The Mint), threatening to cause structural damage. They urgently require pruning or lopping in order to prevent this.

We have large tree out back of exe that is on a decking area, there two branches that overhang and slightly touch the listed house beside us ! The neighbours have asked if we can trim the branches back, so it doesn?t touch the roof or cause any damage in bad weather! Which we are more than happy to do. Apparently this has been done before in the past so should be a straight forward job. So it will just be trimming the two overhanging branches back closest to the house.

G1. 4x Silver birch - Prune all lateral branches growing in a south eastern direction, towards the "The mint apartments" back to the main stem of each tree. These works will remove all overhanging branches that are interfering with the property and any branches that have potential to interfere with the adjacent property in the near future. T2.1x Mature Poplar - Remove south eastern secondary branch that is growing over the property roof back to the primary branch. Crown lift over the adjacent roof to achieve a maximum of 4m clearance. This will be done by removing secondary and tertiary branches only. All material is to be stacked at the base of each tree neatly. Justification - Trees are encroaching onto adjacent block of apartments with branches now touching.

    19 Falkland Close Exeter EX4 5EZ

Oak tree on no mans land embankment which over looks garden of 18 Falkland Close, Exeter, EX4 5EZ. It has a large branch overhanging our garden. Tree surgeon Mitchell Tree Surgery has visited site and advised it needs to be removed. He says it is a large overhanging heavy limb which could cause considerable damage. Last year a large branch from a neighbouring oak next to It came down in a storm and caused damage. Our neighbours in number 18 and ourselves are concerned about this particular branch we wish to report to be removed. The tree itself has grown to 60 foot plus range and we all feel our houses are at risk. Sketch plan attached
