Planning application
Exwick Parish Hall Station Road Exwick Exeter EX4 2AA
Works: Trees
Withdrawn before a decision, so it carries no planning weight. A revised scheme can be submitted at any time.
Proposal
Sycamore tree; to be wholly removed. It was never deliberately planted, and has grown to an excessive size in the last couple of years. There are many trees on the east side of the Jubilee Garden - part of the land owned by Exwick Parish Hall. The Jubilee Garden has been developed over the last couple of years and is used by many community groups for a variety of purposes. This has included much planting and improvement from the disused allotment that had been abandoned. The Sycamore in question is now too large, and gives too much shade later in the day.

T1 - Silver Birch: - Lowest North West primary branch growing towards No.13: Shorten back by 1.5 metres. Diameter cut size of 2-3inches. Reasons: To increase the light in this area, without affecting the vigour of the tree. - 2 specified vertical North East leading stems (photo provided): Shorten back by 3 metres (3-4 inch diameter cut size). The areas to be pruned are the both overhanging the road, and zebra crossing. Reasons: The two areas observed have higher lever arms than other areas of the crown. Movement of the stems in light winds indicate a requirement for reducing the weight and sail effect. They overhang the road and zebra crossing, and so there is a higher risk to the public.

Exwick House Exwick Court Exeter EX2 4RE
Single large Magnolia tree to the left of main building (when facing the front aspect of the property), tree is situated approximately ten feet from the property in a raised bed area. This tree has branches and foliage which over hang the neighbouring property, the intention is to remove all overhang over neighbouring property boundary, severing branches wherever possible at a suitable fork up to 3m inside Exwick house boundary to ensure proper pruning practice. This level of pruning will remove the need for future works for approximately 5 years. The anticipated removal will be less than 10% of the trees spread on a single side. Work to be carried out by tree care professionals who are suitable qualified and will seek to climb the tree to complete the work safely with due consideration to Health and safety guidelines. Within the attached sketch plan the single tree subject of this application is highlighted as ?Tree 1?.

Magnolia Tree adjacent to wall adjoining the Old Rectory in Matford Lane. The magnolia is to be reduced by appoximately 5 metres to the level of the previous reduction. The neighbours in the adjoining property, The Old Rectory in Matford Lane, are supportive of the proposal. Ginko Tree next to and damaging the ancient cob wall between 1 Long Acres and the properties in Wayland Avenue. The Ginko is to be cut down to a height of between 1 and 2 metres to hopefully enable it to regrow but pruned regularly on the wall side of the trunk to train it away from the wall.

19 Falkland Close Exeter EX4 5EZ
Oak tree on no mans land embankment which over looks garden of 18 Falkland Close, Exeter, EX4 5EZ. It has a large branch overhanging our garden. Tree surgeon Mitchell Tree Surgery has visited site and advised it needs to be removed. He says it is a large overhanging heavy limb which could cause considerable damage. Last year a large branch from a neighbouring oak next to It came down in a storm and caused damage. Our neighbours in number 18 and ourselves are concerned about this particular branch we wish to report to be removed. The tree itself has grown to 60 foot plus range and we all feel our houses are at risk. Sketch plan attached
