Works: Trees
Withdrawn before a decision, so it carries no planning weight. A revised scheme can be submitted at any time.
Proposal
T1 - Sycamore. Crown reduce by the following: In height by 2m, maximum diameter of cut (MDC) 30mm To the south by 3m, MDC 50mm To east and north by 2m, MDC 30mm To west by 1.5m, MDC 25mm Existing height - 18m, E-W - 13m, N-S - 15m Reason for works: Management of tree is advisable now as the tree is starting to cause excessive shading, crown reducing the tree in it's current size and shape is beneficial to improve future form and shape. The reduction works are as per BS3998 and considered sound arboricultural practice.

Wild damson or plum tree. No. 1 on the sketch plan. A substantial tree in a garden with other trees, bushes etc. Some of the branches of the tree reach out into and over the drive of the neighbouring property (owned by 'The Dales'). They have broken the fence between the two properties. The foliage of the upper branches sometimes collides with high-sided vehicles in the driveway of the Dales. The proposed work is to prune those branches that reach out into the neighbouring property. This will enable the replacement of the broken fence (for which I am responsible) and avoid further damage. Also upper branches which reach out into the driveway need to be pruned. The tree itself will not be cut down nor will the pruning damage the continued life of the tree as a whole. The work will be completed by a tree surgeon (Neil Bygrave, Exeter Tree and Garden care)- a provisional date of Sat Nov 18 has been agreed, if approval is given by that date. The proposal has been discussed and agreed with the maintenance staff of the Dales.

Magnolia Tree adjacent to wall adjoining the Old Rectory in Matford Lane. The magnolia is to be reduced by appoximately 5 metres to the level of the previous reduction. The neighbours in the adjoining property, The Old Rectory in Matford Lane, are supportive of the proposal. Ginko Tree next to and damaging the ancient cob wall between 1 Long Acres and the properties in Wayland Avenue. The Ginko is to be cut down to a height of between 1 and 2 metres to hopefully enable it to regrow but pruned regularly on the wall side of the trunk to train it away from the wall.

19 Falkland Close Exeter EX4 5EZ
Oak tree on no mans land embankment which over looks garden of 18 Falkland Close, Exeter, EX4 5EZ. It has a large branch overhanging our garden. Tree surgeon Mitchell Tree Surgery has visited site and advised it needs to be removed. He says it is a large overhanging heavy limb which could cause considerable damage. Last year a large branch from a neighbouring oak next to It came down in a storm and caused damage. Our neighbours in number 18 and ourselves are concerned about this particular branch we wish to report to be removed. The tree itself has grown to 60 foot plus range and we all feel our houses are at risk. Sketch plan attached
