Tree Preservation Order - EL:97/06 - T1 - Holly - Fell - The Holly is a poor-quality specimen with limited amenity value. In addition, felling the tree will improve natural light levels to the garden and the property, enhancing the usability and enjoyment of these areas. The removal of this specimen is not expected to have a significant adverse impact on the overall character or amenity of the site. T2 - Sycamore - remove juvenile stem and reduce remainder by 3m to leave finished height of 7m and finished spread of 3m. Again the work will improve light levels reaching the garden and the property, which are currently significantly affected by the size and spread of the tree. Removing the juvenile stem and carrying out a sympathetic crown reduction will help maintain the tree at a more appropriate size for its location while retaining its overall health, form, and amenity value. The proposed works are considered proportionate and represent ongoing tree management rather than unnecessary or excessive pruning.

Tree Preservation Order EL:20/08 - T38 - Oak Request to fell to ground level due to the tree's significantly declining condition and reduced long-term viability. The tree has been affected by Oak Processionary Moth (OPM), which has resulted in extensive crown dieback and a substantial reduction in vitality. In addition, the tree has suffered historic ring-barking damage caused during the construction of the adjacent residential development. This damage has disrupted the tree's vascular system and has likely contributed to its ongoing decline and limited ability to recover. Esher Conservation Area - T1 Leyland Cypress (Rear Garden) Fell to ground level. Reason for Works: The tree is situated in very close proximity to the adjacent outbuilding. As the tree has matured, the stem has increased to a diameter at breast height (DBH) of approximately 40 cm and is now in direct contact with the structure, causing abrasion and damage to the building. Due to the ongoing increase in stem diameter, further structural damage is considered likely if the tree is retained. The proposed removal is therefore necessary to prevent additional damage while maintaining the safety and integrity of the adjacent structure. T2 Lawson Cypress (Rear Garden) Remove one large declining lateral limb and carry out a crown clean to remove all deadwood throughout the canopy. Reason for Works: A substantial lateral limb is in decline, exhibiting extensive dieback and a significant reduction in live foliage. The removal of this limb is proposed to reduce the risk of branch failure and improve the tree's overall condition. In addition, deadwood will be removed throughout the crown to eliminate potential hazards, improve canopy health, and form part of routine arboricultural management.
