EL:97/06 - Tree Species: Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa) and Lime (Tilia species) Location: Both trees are located in the back garden. Proposed Work: We propose to reduce the overall canopy of both the Sweet Chestnut and Lime trees by approximately 1.5 to 2 meters. This reduction will involve carefully pruning back branches to an appropriate growth point, ensuring the trees maintain a natural and balanced appearance. Reason for Work: The size and density of the canopies have resulted in a significant reduction in natural light to both our property and the neighbouring property. The lack of sunlight has contributed to the formation of dampness on one of our exterior walls, which poses a long-term risk to the building's structure. Additionally, the branches are heavily weighted, with some having broken off historically, increasing the risk of further breakage and potential property damage. Additional Considerations: All work will be undertaken with care to preserve the health and aesthetic quality of the trees, ensuring their long-term vitality while addressing safety and property concerns.

Currently, during summer months, the rear of house and gardens receive no natural sunlight. East Molesey Kent Town Conservation Area - T1 - Lime tree on rear boundary - tree has a height of approximately 20 metres and spread of approximately 12 metres. Proposed works are to reduce crown by approximately 2-2.5 metres to previous pruning points, remove regrowth on main trunk to lift crown to a height of approximately 3 metres, leaving the tree with a height of approximately 17.5 metres and spread of approximately 8 metres. These works are being carried out to give clearance from pool house, maintain the tree at a reasonable size suitable to location by carrying out cyclical pruning and allowing light into pool area.

    34 Clive Road Esher Surrey KT10 8PS

Esher Conservation Area - T1 Leyland Cypress (Rear Garden) Fell to ground level. Reason for Works: The tree is situated in very close proximity to the adjacent outbuilding. As the tree has matured, the stem has increased to a diameter at breast height (DBH) of approximately 40 cm and is now in direct contact with the structure, causing abrasion and damage to the building. Due to the ongoing increase in stem diameter, further structural damage is considered likely if the tree is retained. The proposed removal is therefore necessary to prevent additional damage while maintaining the safety and integrity of the adjacent structure. T2 Lawson Cypress (Rear Garden) Remove one large declining lateral limb and carry out a crown clean to remove all deadwood throughout the canopy. Reason for Works: A substantial lateral limb is in decline, exhibiting extensive dieback and a significant reduction in live foliage. The removal of this limb is proposed to reduce the risk of branch failure and improve the tree's overall condition. In addition, deadwood will be removed throughout the crown to eliminate potential hazards, improve canopy health, and form part of routine arboricultural management.
