Planning application
12 HEATHLANDS ROAD, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 1GW
Works: Trees
Refused. Only the applicant can appeal, within the statutory time limit, and a revised scheme can be submitted instead.
Proposal
1no. Oak - Prune all branches by 3-4m. Mature tree and its crown covers a corner of the house. Some branches hang over the gutter and when the leaves fall they clog and block the gutter and the downpipes. Tree leans quite significantly towards the public footpath and road. Branches that are above road also need to be pruned for the tree to be 'better balanced', to stop from further leaning and refrain the tree from falling which could be harmful to public and cars.

1no. Oak (T1) - Reduce a lateral branch extending toward street light by approx. 1–2m, pruning back to the nearest suitable growth point, while retaining the tree’s natural form and structural balance as per request from Southern Electric. The lateral growth is obstructing light output from the adjacent street light. Works to restore effective light coverage in the interest of public safety and amenity. Works will comprise a minor lateral crown reduction / selective pruning to the affected branch only. No reduction to the overall height or remainder of the crown is proposed.

11 VALLEY ROAD, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 1GQ
1 No. Oak (297-E) - Remove growth from trunk to height 3m. Growth consists of five lateral branches all from the south west side of the Oak's trunk. This will rebalance the oak's previous shape, restore its historical crown height (~5m from ground level), increase light and prevent low branch obstruction.

DERWENT, 28 LAKEWOOD ROAD, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 1EW
1no. Redwood (T4, originates from no. 30) - Crown lift of bottom 9 branches, to increase the amount of light reaching ground level. This is necessitated due to the dense nature of the tree's branches. This amounts to no more than a crown lift of 1m.

17 FOREST CLOSE, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 1NB
1no. Silver Birch (T1) - Dismantle the to ground level. Replant with new Silver Birch as like-for-like replacement. Tree is in decline and is shedding significant deadwood from canopy. Main stem has an old major pruning/wound point with significant dysfunction and deterioration around the union. Remaining upright stem originates above this compromised area, creating potential structural weak point. The pronounced change in stem direction also places additional mechanical loading and leverage on weakened section, particularly during high winds.
