  • NC/26/100899 Granted

HACKETTS, HIGH STREET, BURSLEDON, SOUTHAMPTON, SO31 8DL

1no. Weeping Willow - Remove the crown entirely (see picture 4) and cut back the lower branches to a max length of approx 3m, similar to picture 5. Tree has already lost two large branches (see photos 1 & 2) and is showing further signs of weakness. Tree was subject of a previous application NC/23/94510; outcome was “Raise No Objection.” One of the two trees in that application suffered a major loss of a limb last summer leading to emergency pollarding. (See picture 5). With the other tree having similar characteristics, including a very large branch reaching over the drive (see picture 3), we believe it would be appropriate to reduce the second tree in a similar way to the first one.

Reduce the height of both trees which are far in excess of the main building by 3 metres again retaining an appropriate "Willow tree" shape.
