TPO005 T1 & T2 - 2 Lime (Tilia spp.) - Re-pollard both trees back to the established previous pruning points, removing approximately 1.5-2.0m of the current regrowth from the height and lateral spread, subject to the location of the historic pollard heads. Retain the existing pollard framework and avoid cutting beyond the established previous reduction points. Crown lift both trees to provide approximately 2.5m clearance above the adjoining pedestrian footpath, by selectively removing or shortening low secondary branches only. Remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches encountered during the works. Reason: Routine management of previously pollarded Lime trees; to contain crown dimensions, maintain the established pruning regime and provide suitable clearance above the adjoining pedestrian footpath. T3 - Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) Crown reduce the tree by approximately 2.0-2.5m from the height and lateral spread, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points and maintaining a balanced, natural crown form. The finished crown dimensions should be approximately 4-5m smaller in overall diameter than existing. Crown thin by up to 20%, concentrating on selective removal of secondary growth throughout the crown without creating excessive internal voids or removing significant structural limbs. Crown lift to provide approximately 4.0m clearance above ground level, through selective removal or shortening of lower secondary branches. Remove all deadwood throughout the crown. Reason: General crown management to reduce overall crown dimensions and end-weight, improve crown structure and maintain appropriate clearance beneath the tree.
