Planning application
3 Semple Street Edinburgh EH3 8BL
Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
A new VRF enclosure will be formed within the basement car park, with associated refrigerant pipework distributed from the basement to Level 04. The pipework will rise via the existing lightwell to Level 00, continue externally along the existing retaining wall and trench within a new mesh enclosure replacing the existing timber-clad enclosure, then enter the building low level through the existing louvred plant space at Level 00 before being distributed internally to the upper floors.

The process from here
This application is with City of Edinburgh for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About lawful development applications
How this application type works
A lawful development certificate is a legal determination, not a planning judgement. It asks the council to confirm either that existing use or works are lawful, often through the passage of time, or that a proposal would not need planning permission at all. The applicant must prove the facts; the merits of the scheme are not considered.

5 Harrison Road Edinburgh EH11 1EG
The land behind 5 Harrison Road has been in use as my garden since 1984 when I developed it (i.e. from when I purchased the house). It is a fenced-in plot of land similar to all other garden plots in the street. It contains mature plants, trees and lawn. There are no structures (except the fencing) on the land. I understand that the garden appears on the council mapping since that time.
