Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
We are seeking prior permission for the proposed replacement of all existing single-glazed timber-framed windows with modern double-glazed uPVC units in a tilt-and-turn style. The current windows are original timber pivot units, each with integrated top louvre vents, and were installed over 40 years ago.

I bought Flat 4 110 Comiston Road on 10th July 2026 and I am notifying you and ask for prior approval that I will reinstate the original wooden sash window design throughout the property and replace the current UPVC windows at the property. The current windows open fully (swing) and are not the original opening method as should be in sash windows. I have a quote from "Edinburgh Sash and Case Company", and have already paid for the initial work of making the windows from scratch. The windows are due to be installed with great care and attention to detail in the middle of September 2026.
