Removal of 1 semi mature oak tree (T1) to ground level. As of December 2019 the oak tree fractured out a very large section from the top of the tree which upon climbing and removing shed light on a greater problem in the main union of the tree. The oak tree has numerous old wounds all originating from around this 1 central point with significant rot maturing with very little calus tissue around them. The one highlighted in the picture is on the topside of the remaining top section which has a very large amount of weight on this fragile tension point. This section is also directly above a highly used area (driveway and pavement).

Proposed to Crown lift by:- Cutback/remove as necessary dead/diseased or damaged lower branches Cutback/remove as necessary any other lower branches To provide a clearance above ground level of no more than 5m to allow for the passage of large farm machinery on the field side with a matching clearance in the garden to ensure a similar natural shape and balance to the trees form. To control the hazard of falling branches and promote regrowth in the upper crown its proposed to undertake a crown thin of dead/diseased or damaged branches in the 25% area of the tree area currently affected by decline. Whilst the removal of dead and diseased wood does not normally require consent its expected that a limited amount of viable wood will need to be cut during the work and thinning works to obtain the consistant ground clearance and natural balance and shape for the tree that is sort. Its for this work that advice and consent has been sort
