Proposal
Removal of Hedge - We would like to join two fields together to simplify and make farming operations more efficient. The two fields concerned are SJ5874 3285 (Middle Pikenall) and SJ5874 2166 (Church field). The proposed new field would replicate the form and shape of both fields on either side. In total, we would like to remove approximately 122m of hedge. Over the past 12 years the farm has been involved in the higher level stewardship scheme, which has involved planting 1000's of metres of new hedges. Looking at the field system on Cheshire Tithe Maps Online it would appear that this hedge was planted post-1845 as the field boundary (i.e. the hedge we would like to remove) is in a different place on the Tithe Map.

The process from here
This application is with Cheshire West and Chester for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
