Planning application

Allt y Hendre, Allt y Coomb and Allt Tre-hyrn Woodlands, Llangynog, Carmarthen, SA33 5HX

Refused Carmarthenshire PL/01275 Prior notification: Road (agricultural/forestry)

Works: Trees

Refused. Only the applicant can appeal, within the statutory time limit, and a revised scheme can be submitted instead.

Proposal

Prior notification - proposed alteration of an existing road or highway: There is a network of forestry tracks running the length of the woodland to provide access for management and timber extraction. These tracks have been little used for many years, since the last significant planting operation took place in the 1990s, and the surface has massively degraded due to windblown trees, water runoff and buildup of leaf litter and mud, to the point of being almost impassable. The proposal is to clean these tracks, restore a manageable profile to the surface, and add stone to provide a good running surface. A few additional lengths of track will be added where areas are not served by the (currently known) existing tracks
