Trees identified on TPO Application Plan within Appendix E of the Tree Survey report. Details are as provided on the schedule on the plan, summarised below. All tree works are as a consequence of construction activities in the location, as part of the A38 Bromsgrove Major Scheme Improvements proposed by Worcestershire County Council. The works are being undertaken under Permitted Development. Construction activities within the TPO designation will include ground raising to tie in with revised levels from adjacent road widening and pavement improvement works. The existing fence will be removed and replaced along the revised highway boundary with a post and rail fence. Tree/ hedge reference in tree survey report: 26 - Tilia sp - to be retained, no tree works required. Works within RPA to be undertaken by hand tools only. Tree condition to be monitored post construction. 27 - hedgerow (species listed on attached plan) - partial removal (33m length at southern end). The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
