What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Land East Of The Street Bramerton Norfolk

All trees and hedges on the eastern side of The Street, Bramerton to be cut back to completely uncover the footway and achieve a minimum 2.3m clearance above the footway. Also, raise any tree crowns (to an estimated minimum 3.0m clearance) on the driveway leading to the Church of Saint Peter car park as that is where site compound for the works will be located. Any vegetation works will be supervised by a qualified person to identify bird nests as it is nesting season. Refer to drawing number 'PMC020-HD-0000-002' for the Hedge and Tree Trimming Extents. This is to facilitate footway maintenance works which due to street works requirements can only be carried out in the Summer Holidays, planned to start on 20th July 2026. Vegetation works need to be carried out prior to 20th July 2026 to ensure the works can go ahead. If vegetation works are not carried out prior to this date, the footway works will be at risk of being postponed until summer 2027.
