Opposite to the direction of lean - 50% reduction, rebalancing toping above the first descending limbs in the crown.   Mature Sycamore at rear of sawmill (East side) inside fence. 3m patch of stripped bark at major union 10 m above ground on building side. Crown showing die back above bark less area. 7 Oyster Fungus (Pleurotus ostreatus) brackets present spread over the whole bark less area. Take half of the weight out above wound, Reduce limb to growth point that is in the wound. Bring in lower canopy. Aim to retain tree and reduce need for further tree surgery in future. Reducing risk to listed building and work area below. Work shown and advice take from Greg Long Tree Care.
