Proposal
1. Following a site visit to No 26a The Orchard, Belper and the grounds of Osmaston Grange it is noted that the group of trees located to the bottom of the site and that border Charnwood Ave and The Orchard have become over grown with lots of small self-set trees on the boundary line and the mature trees either touching the building of Osmaston Grange or over hanging the gardens of the neighbouring properties. Propose to :- 1. Bring any branches touching the care home building back away from it by 2m. 2. Thin the group by taking out any self-set trees <75mm. 3. Lift the canopy of the group that is over hanging the neighbouring properties by 4m. 4. Remove any smaller trees that are growing from the grounds but sideways over the gardens of the neighbouring properties especially 1No. Holly and 1No. Ash growing out over 26a The Orchard.

1. Following a site visit to No. 17 Charnwood Ave, Belper and the grounds of Osmaston Grange it is noted that the large multi stemmed Ash tree that is over hanging the care home and the garden of No.17 is in poor condition and showing signs of Ash Dieback and some decay at the base. The tree has had several large limbs already fail and as the die back progresses it would make the branch structure become more brittle. The tree is best visited form 17 Charnwood as free access is available.

I propose to crown lift single Yew tree (T1) to a height of 4metres and reduce branches growing towards property to give 2m clearance. I would like to do this to allow more light in give more clearance for driveway traffic, this would also include some branches growing over footpath which will prevent it needing to be done in the near future. I propose to remove single multi-stemmed Hawthorne tree (T2) it is within a large hedgerow and is in decline. there are large areas of dieback within the crown and the customer would like it removed along with a couple of other dead trees within this hedgerow. we do not feel there is an immediate risk of it falling but it is in decline and will need removing at some point. I propose to crown lift single Horse chestnut tree (T3) to 3 metres and crown thin by uptown 15% I would like to do this again to allow more light in to the garden and get it away from hedges. I propose to crown reduce single Cherry tree (T4) by 40% this tree has been previously reduced a couple of times and has now been left for some years and ha got quite leggy so I feel it should be brought down in height. this Is also to allow more light into lower part of the garden and open up the view that the property has. Reduce the height of the tree by 1-2 meters to suitable growth points while maintaining a balanced shape of the crown. Remove/prune back rubbing branches to eradicate failure Remove dead wood throughout All works carried out to BS3998 The tree is in fair condition but is now unbalanced as a neighboring tree situated on the north side uprooted due to storm damage, this has left the tree exposed to north westerly winds.

T1- sycamore. Previously pollared at 14 metre. We would like to crown reduce sycamore by 2-3 metre north side of tree over extending house side. We have had branches fall of the tree recently, which only just missed the conservatory.The sycamore has a lot of squirrel damage throughout the canopy which is quite concerning. T2- self seeded sycamore growing against garden fence remove to ground level. T3-large sycamore crown lift 4/5 metre and side prune north side of tree 2 metre one limb on the tree is over extending.
