T1 - Chestnut in rear garden - Reduce Northern, Eastern and Western sides of tree by 1.5-2m approx. Reduce top and southern side of tree by 2-3m to bring tree back into a balanced and even shape. Crown raise to approx 3m from ground level, achieved mostly by removing epicormic growth up to 5m up stem.

Bronescombe Smith Hill Bishopsteignton Devon TQ14 9QT

G1 - Pittosporum, Purple Plum and Leylandii Conifer. Reduce pittosporum by 40-50%, reduce and shape plum tree by 1-1.5m, and remove all overhang from neighbouring Leylandii back to match lower hedge line. G2 - Cherry, Maple, Walnut & Whitebeam. Remove Cherry to ground level. Reduce Maple by approx 2m. Reduce Walnut by 1.5-2m. Reduce Whitebeam by approx 1m. T1 - Hornbeam - reduce by 2-2.5m T2 - Olive - Fell to ground. T3 - Ash in neighbouring property, framework pollard to reduce ultimate height by approx 50%. T4 - Cedar in neighbouring property, fell to ground. T5 - Field Maple, reduce as much as possible whilst retaining a leaf bearing structure. Ultimate reduction percentage hard to judge until cutting has been started. Aiming for an approx 2m reduction all round.

Parmar Cricketfield Road Torquay TQ2 7NP

T1 - Mature bay tree. Tree is leaning against an old stone boundary wall, on the other side of which is a building owned by a neighbour. The tree is growing in the only direction it can to chase light and has ended up heavily weighted, with the entire canopy overhanging the property. It shows signs of stress or damage at the base due to a dry cambium layer and peeling bark, and the tree is co-dominant from ground level to approx 4-5ft. I do not believe the tree to be entirely sound in itself and it is relying on the wall to remain standing. Application is to dismantle the large stems to ground level, or close to, and leave the new, smaller growth at the base to form a new tree that can be more easily managed. T2 - Semi-mature chestnut, the smallest in a row of 3 trees. Tree has no leaf or any signs of budding, appears brittle and unlikely to recover. Overhanging driveway. Dismantle tree to leave a 3.5-4m habitat stem, with final cuts made at the first union.

Cotana Cottage Higher Erith Road Torquay TQ1 2NQ

T1 - Holm oak. Growing in an elevated position leaning toward road and footpath below. Heavy decay in base. Fell to ground. T2 - Oak growing from neighbouring garden. Leaning over clients garden. Hazard beam split in back stem, healing well and not seen as a significant point of weakness. Reduce entire crown by 1.5-2m. See annotated photo T3 - previously pollarded oak tree above driveway. Decay pocket in base of tree that extends below ground. Fell to ground.

Overhills Parade Chudleigh Devon TQ13 0JG

Mature beech tree in rear garden. Crown raise to approximately 6-6.5m all round. Reduce single small limb that is over extending in the space that a failed chestnut has left in the canopy. Inspect old bracing in tree for correct tension and general condition

Silverdale Meadow Road Torquay TQ2 6PR

Mature lime tree adjacent to shared driveway, overhanging neighbouring property line. After carrying out a basic ground inspection whilst carrying out other work at the property, we decided to conduct a climbing inspection to assess the condition of historical pollard points at approximately 8m from ground level due to poor visibility from the ground. Upon climbing the tree we inspected the main unions at each historic pollard point and as suspected from ground level, there were multiple areas of concern with included unions, pockets of dirt collecting within the unions and branches beginning to fail within the upper crown of the tree. The tree is situated close to a hilltop and can be exposed to strong winds. Due to the location of the tree there is a likelihood of serious damage or potential injury should any of the main unions fail in strong winds. I feel the tree is long overdue attention given the species and evidence of previous pruning. For the reasons outlined above I?m requesting a pollard at 8m (approx), to the previous pollard points, whilst retaining some of the lower secondary limbs, pollarded away from the stem, to give the tree some shape whilst it recovers from the pollard, and gives us anchor points for roped access for any future pruning.

G1 - 2 stems of Redwood Cedar growing adjacent to each other forming one continuous crown. Crown raise to the existing crown by approx 3m-4m. Due to the nature of the growth on these trees final cuts may be made 2-3m higher than the eventual crown height.

Oak trees: T1 - reduce and crown raise lowest limb over road by approximately 2-3m T2 - remove single limb over driveway to improve light level in garden. Remove epicormic on main stem. T3 - reduce overhang over building by 1.5-2m. Remove epicormic from centre of trees crown. T4 - clear 2x bt lines by 1m. Remove epicormic from centre of trees crown. T5 - clear neighbouring building by 3-4m, and reduce overhang from chimney area. T6 - reduce overhang from building by 1.5-2m. Remove large deadwood. T7 - reduce overhang from building by 1.5-2m. Remove epicormic from main stem. T8 - clear building by 3-4m.
