Bus Shelter Opposite No. 24 School Street Wolverhampton West Midlands

Granted Wolverhampton Application to Display Adverts

Proposal

Transport for West Midlands are going to install a new bus shelter, to replace the existing bus stop pole, within which we would like to install our double-sided advertising display unit containing 2 integrated digital displays, at the departure end. The proposed replacement digital panels would display static advertising images in sequence, changing no more frequently than every 10 seconds, the change via smooth fade.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About advertising applications

How this application type works

Advertisement consent controls signs, hoardings and other adverts. The council may only judge two things: amenity, meaning the effect on the appearance of the building and area, and public safety, chiefly whether a sign distracts road users or obstructs sight lines. Other planning considerations, such as competition between businesses, do not apply.
