The Pines 2 Coppice End Pyrford Woking Surrey GU22 8PU
Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
Works relating to roots growing under driveway of 1 Coppice End - T1, T2 & T3 (Scots Pines) : Remove all roots within the driveway sand bedding layer (directly beneath the block paving). Remove any additional roots growing directly beneath the membrane that are pushing up through the hogging layer, onto the membrane, up to a maximum root diameter of 60mm. Roots will be carefully traced back to the wall edge or down to a depth of 10cm and pruned with clean, sharp cuts. Avoid tearing or disturbing deeper roots. Roots should be cut at a 90-degree angle. Root pruning work should be carried out under the supervision of a qualified arborist, minimising disturbance to the trees. Deeper roots beneath or within the hoggin layer will remain in situ. (Works subject to TPO 626/0274/1981).

The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

1 - False Acacia: (Left side of rear garden) Reduce crown back to previous reduction points to maintain shape and manage size, work will encourage healthy regrowth and reduce excessive shading in this area. 2 - Magnolia: (rear garden) Reduce crown back to previous reduction points to maintain its compact, ornamental form. This is general maintenance to control size and improve light penetration to the garden. 3 - False Acacia: (rear garden) Reduce crown back to previous reduction points in line with past cyclical maintenance. Work is necessary to manage canopy size, ensure safe clearance from paths and structures, and promote tree health. 4 - Lawson Cypress: (rear of property, close to building) Fell to ground level due to its close proximity to the building. The tree poses a potential risk to the structure and limits access for building maintenance. 5 - Lawson Cypress: (boundary tree near Public Footpath) Fell to ground level due to the tree causing damage to the boundary wall and creating a potential safety hazard to pedestrians using the adjacent public footpath.
