Proposed Works: Reduction of T1 - Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) by 2-3 metres in both canopy height and lateral spread. Reason for Works: Decay is present within the lower stem, and Polyporus squamosus (Dryad?s Saddle) is evident on the tree, indicating internal dysfunction and a reduction in structural stability. The works are proposed to manage the associated risk while retaining the tree.

T1 Felling of a Silver Birch (approx 100mm diameter at 1.5M ) which was planted by us a few years ago. We now realise that it was planted too near to a mature Maple (T2). There is another Silver Birch planted further away that will be retained. T2 The removal of a lower limb of the Maple and raise the crown to 5m to remove branches overhanging/over-shadowing a yew hedge and decorative flower beds.

The Thatched House Church Lane Sparsholt Winchester Hampshire SO21 2NJ
T1 - one of three yew trees to the front of our property. This bifurcated tree causes excessive shading of rooms in the house, dramatically reduces the amenity value of our front garden and increases the time the thatched roof is damp reducing its effective life. T2 - an excessively large Western Red Cedar. This tree is showing stress towards the top and because of the prevailing wind we are concerned that should it be brought down in high winds it would destroy the oil storage tank with significant environmental consequences for ourselves and the neighbouring property.
