Yew tree located in back garden, sickly looking and leggy, large for its location, quite near to the house. Propose to reduce overall size by 5 metres and commensurately length of branches as advised by Colin Luff (arborist),to allow the tree to recover. Group of 4 conifers/ thuja at the front of the property facing onto Palm Hall Close. Some are dying and unsightly. Now grown too large for the site, blocking light and making the grass behind dry and bare. Propose to remove them all, grind out stumps and replace with an attractive group of large shrubs as has been done elsewhere on the Close. Ash tree on the opposite side of our driveway to the conifer group suffering from Ash die-back. Propose to fell, but not to replace if possible, as we would like to resurface our driveway, and the root from the ash tree currently is lifting the tarmac.

Prune one ornamental, variegated Holly Illex aquifolium in back garden next to shed. Tree has two trunks, diameters at one metre 17cm and 13cm. Overall height of tree is about 6.5m. We would like to reduce height by about one third and trim sides. The Holly is getting rather large for its position and shading bog garden and pond. We are not certain if we need to submit planning application for this relatively small tree.
