Works: Trees
Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
Oak tree T1 - Fell, tree with large proportion of missing back from historical damage (lightening?) Now has visible brackets of decay fungus and if it fails it will damage retaining wall and slide/reach house. Oak Tree T2 - Tree with large spreading limbs which are growing towards light and causing excessive shading on lawn - Crown raise to 6m over lawn and reduce longer laterals by 2m. Replanting has already been carried out with numerous trees over the last few years.

What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with Wigan for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About this record
Reading the register
This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that Wigan is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.
Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.
