Planning application

Cartmel Priory Priest Lane Cartmel GRANGE-OVER-SANDS LA11 6PU

Granted Westmorland and Furness 2024/2257/TCA Tree in Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

The two large yew trees by the south gate entry to the Priory have been assessed by the tree surgeon (Max Reynolds, arborist) who has identified that they need re shaping and crown lifting for both vehicle access and the signage on the road. Reduce by up to 2 metres. The single previously banded yew tree by the north door which surrounds the cast iron lamppost. This needs reshaping to allow painting of the lamppost and improve pedestrian access along the public right of way. Prune to create a clearance of up to 300 millimetres from the light.
