What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About heritage and listed buildings applications
How this application type works
Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.

There are three lime trees on my driveway. I would like to re-pollard the tree nearest the house (marked as 'Lime Tree 3' on the sketch plan) back to previous pollard points. Our cars are parked near this tree. The branches now overhang the cars and cover them in sap in the summer which attracts large numbers of wasps onto the cars (we've counted over 50 on many occasions). Repollarding will remove the likelihood of getting stung by wasps as we get in and out of the cars.

Removal of internal (thin) partition stud wall (not load bearing). The wall shows the historic layout of the building so we would put nibs or an arch up to show the wall was there previously.

The proposals seek to reorganise the existing ground floor arrangement by relocating the kitchen into the current dining room and reinstating a former doorway opening to form a more practical entrance sequence. A pantry will be created by enclosing the existing opening between the two rooms, while the current kitchen space will be reconfigured to provide a separate utility room and boot room.
