Creation of secure storage compound to the rear of the Garston Telephone exchange site. The compound will include 3Nr 6m storage containers that will house equipment and materials in support of the local telecoms infrastructure network, such as excavations tools, ducting, fibre cable and man hole covers. The perimeter fence will be a heras galvanized metal fence with weighted plastic footings to the perimeter of the storage area. In addition a temporary welfare unit will be placed on site. This is set on existing hardstanding area next to the building. The Government has set a target to connect a minimum of 85% of premises to gigabit-capable coverage by 2027. The solution of setting up small depots is both sustainable and effective in meeting the needs of the roll out.
