Planning application

2026/2557

47 Flat Second Floor Wimbledon Park Road SW18 5SJ

Awaiting decision Wandsworth Works to a T.P.O. Tree

Proposal

T1 - Semi mature ash tree located in centre of rear garden- - fell to as close to ground level as possible. Reasons for the works are the tree is causing excessive shading in rear garden and showing signs of die back in the upper canopy with lots of small deadwood present in canopy. The tree is low amenity and probably self seeded from more specimen trees located in neighboring gardens. T2- 1 x mature apple tree located next to wooden cabin in rear garden- - fell to as close to ground level as possible . Reasons for works are the tree is of low amenity value as it has been previous pollarded at 12 feet above ground level. The tree is resting on cabin roof causing rubbing wounds on the tree. Ganoderma fungi bracket was noticed at base of tree and main trunk is showing signs of decay with rot pockets visible.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Wandsworth for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
