Mimosa tree: Weight of the tree is heading south - thin out the back of the tree (north side) and reduce back the larger branches from the south side 20% crown thin on the lhs of the tree to allow more air to pass through with less build-up of pathogens Remove old pruning stubs and dead wood Cut back the ends of the branches facing the house - reducing larger branches back to the main stem but retain younger branches This will have an impact on weight distribution and will also avoid any dieback on the end of the branches caused by frost damage
