What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About householder applications
How this application type works
Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

There is only 1 tree at the front of my property a Magnolia Grandeflore and I need a whole crown reduction by 1m all around as it is taking as we are unable to walk underneath it to access our front door. I has not been cut for 3 years due to the TPO and problems with applications and it is not good for the tree to be uncared for My neighbours on both sides have complained that the tree is starting to overhang their properties and is taking the light from their properties I am aware that this is a very special tree and I have always looked after it very carefully and will continue to do so using the services of Wimbledon Tree Surgeons who have carried out the works on this tree for the past 20 years
