What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About householder applications

How this application type works

Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

Planning Permission Statement ??? Replacement Windows First Floor Flat, 130 Wimbledon Park Road, SW18 5UE Planning permission is sought for the replacement of existing windows at the first floor flat at 130 Wimbledon Park Road, SW18 5UE. The property lies within the Wimbledon Park Road Conservation Area, and this statement demonstrates that the proposed works preserve and enhance its character and appearance. The application is supported by drawings, photographs, and detailed window designs prepared by Anglia Windows. Anglia Windows has been selected due to their national reputation and experience working within the London Borough of Wandsworth, including conservation area properties. Their understanding of local authority requirements has informed the proposed design. The proposed replacement uPVC windows have been carefully designed to reflect the architectural character of the conservation area and comply with the Wimbledon Park Road Conservation Area Appraisal. The design incorporates traditional timber-style mouldings to the frames and casements, ensuring a traditional appearance. Square top lights with a leaded appearance are proposed on the front elevation to reflect the prevailing window styles found on neighbouring first-floor properties along Wimbledon Park Road. General Design Approach The replacement windows will comprise square top lights above rectangular casements, separated by a moulded frame detail. Timber-style mouldings are incorporated throughout to ensure consistency with traditional window designs characteristic of the conservation area. Front Elevation ??? Lounge Bay Windows The front lounge bay windows will feature square leaded top lights, matching other first-floor bay windows within the conservation area. The proportions, dimensions, and overall design replicate the existing windows and are shown in the accompanying drawings. As the bay windows are structural, the proposed Anglia units are designed to provide the necessary structural support. Front Elevation ??? Bedroom Windows The bedroom windows on the front elevation will also incorporate square leaded top lights, ensuring consistency with neighbouring properties and the wider streetscape. Design Details Detailed window drawings prepared by Anglia Windows following a site survey are included with this submission. These drawings confirm window sizes and configurations and will be used for manufacture. Technical specifications for the proposed units are also provided.
