Works: Trees
Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.
Proposal
We wish to prune a wild cherry tree and a maple tree both growing in the rear garden of no 29 mill street and overhanging into our rear garden. This will invole pruning/reducing the canopy by 1-2m. The tree surgeon will also shape the remaining canopy and remove any dead wood. No cutting of tree trunk/height and pruning only to approved prune points. We have spoken to our neighbours at no 29 and they are happy with the plans. The partial reduction proposed will increase the amount of sunlight to the garden which is severely restricted by the overhang, it will also prevent large branches falling off into our garden which has happened in the past and reduce the risk of injury to occupants of no 27 including our 7 year old son who uses the garden frequently.

The council has decided this application; the published outcome sits in the record above and the decision notice on the council portal carries the detail, including any conditions.

About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
