Proposal

G1: Various Cypress to be removed to due poor form and to improve garden area. Cypress to the north to be removed due to close proximity to house and listed brick wall G2: Two Holm Oaks. The Oak has a historic cable brace. The brace will be retained and the decayed limb will be carefully reduced by 1.5 metres to lessen chances of failure. The Oak closest to pool house will have overhang reduced back from pool house by 1.5 metres to prevent encroachment. G3: Line of boundary Birch: these trees are to be crown-reduced by 1.5 metres to maintain. This will also allow light onto pool area. The tree is an 11 metre high Monterey Cypress, which stands on the Western border of the site. It has been classed as a B2 tree according to the BS 5837 category grading system. Whilst it looks very nice, unfortunately it has been found to have grown directly over the property sewage manhole, and as such represents a present and future danger, both from roots blocking Thames Water sewer pipes (a recent sewage blockage discovered roots from this tree to be the cause) and an inherent weakness in terms of its anchorage to the ground, around the manhole structure. Please see attached photos for evidence. It is not possible to open the manhole fully without cutting the roots out from under the tree, which is not a sustainable situation.
