I want to trim the yew tree back closer to the boundary (fence line) giving more light into the garden and be less over bearing. Agreed with the neighbour (owner of the tree) that they are happy with this and I will be paying to carry out the work once agreed with yourselves.

T1 - European Beech (Fagus sylvatica) Proposed works: Fell to ground level The beech tree is in a severely declined condition and is considered to be beyond reasonable arboricultural retention. Observed defects include: - Extensive basal decay evident at and around the root collar, indicating a significant reduction in structural integrity. - Absence of viable buds during the current growing season, confirming advanced physiological failure. - Widespread bark cracking and stress fractures throughout the main stem, consistent with chronic decline and internal dysfunction. - The tree exhibits a pronounced lean towards the neighbouring property, directly overhanging a garden area and ancillary structures (sheds). Given the extent of decay and decline, the tree presents an increasing risk of failure, particularly under wind loading. Due to its size, condition, and proximity to neighbouring structures, remedial pruning or retention measures would not be appropriate or effective. Removal is therefore proposed on safety grounds, in accordance with BS3998:2010 and the duty of care to prevent foreseeable harm. T2 â¿¿ Yew (Taxus baccata) Proposed works: Lateral reduction of side growth by up to 1.5 metres A sympathetic lateral reduction is proposed to the sides of the yew tree, reducing branch length by up to 1.5 metres. The works will: - Be undertaken without reducing the overall height of the tree. - Retain the treeâ¿¿s natural form and dense evergreen character. - Be carried out using suitable reduction points to maintain healthy growth and minimise stress. The works are required to: - Reduce persistent bird fouling affecting the adjacent conservatory roof and glazing. - Improve daylight penetration to the property. This constitutes routine cyclical maintenance, which has been undertaken on several previous occasions without adverse impact on the treeâ¿¿s health or amenity value. All works will be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 â¿¿ Tree Work â¿¿ Recommendations.
