Works: Trees
Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.
Proposal
T1978 - Black Pine - reduce spread of crown by 1.5-2m around perimeter of canopy. Remove all moderate - major deadwood from crown. T1979 - Black Pine - sectional fell/dismantle tree to ground level. T1980 - Black Pine - reduce spread of crown by 1.5-2m around perimeter of canopy.Remove all moderate major deadwood from crown. Strip ivy from stem. My client has asked me to apply for the works as detailed above to the 3 x Pinus Nigra trees due to recentl limb losses from all trees on to the road and public footpath, no excessive shading of their property and the close proximity of multiple overhead services to the trees. They are prepared to replant T1979 with a replacement tree as advised by yourselves. The trees are tagged with aluminium tags corresponding to the numbers above to aid identification.

Acer platanoides - request for crown lifting and crown reduction. Reasons include branches currently overhanging and knocking electrical cables into our property and neighbours property. Branches and foliage are now less than one metre from our property, so impinges on light into the living spaces. Branches and foliage hanging over neighbours land. In the autumn the debris from the foliage (in our land and also neighbours) is dangerous as it is very slippery when wet. Branches and foliage overhanging public right of ways including path, bus stop and road. Ideally crown lift to give a 4 metre clearance from the property. Pinus nigra - request for crown lifting. Reasons include loss of light, debris and overhand into neighbours private road.

The single dead Cherry tree is shown as "C" in a red circle on the Sketchmap provided. For reasons of safety before autumn storms, the crown now needs to be reduced by removal of the lateral branches to a residual limb length of c. 1 metre above main unions, creating a branched monolith (of about 4-5m height) . This is a wildlife-friendly alternative to complete removal. The trunk already has ivy growth, and the tree will continue to provide potential harbourage for wood-boring insects, other invertebrates, birds and smal mammals. Arborists have indicated that the standing dead tree should remain stable for several years as a monolith. Stability will be checked annually. The lopped branches will be cut into manageable pieces to make a habitat pile in a designated area of the churchyard. N.B. There is no Tree Preservation Order in force for this tree or any other tree in the chuchyard.
