T1 - Cupressus leylandii conifer T2 - Sycamore The Cupressus leylandii conifer to the right hand side of the drive is a problem because it has been made top heavy by metal banding which has resulted in a bulky growth above the site of restriction, the metal having been incorporated into the tree. The large sycamore is the major problem tree. It may be approaching the end of its natural life, as the tree surgeon noted significant decay to the rear of the tree and could not be certain as to its depth. As it is an extremely heavy tree, leans forward slightly, has shed some significantly large branches (narrowly missing parked cars) and, overhangs the children's play room, the public road and next door's garden, my husband and I are naturally apprehensive with every storm! Our intention would be to replant with a suitable alternative. A single conifer on the lean and threatening (worrying) the neighbour is part of an antisocially overgrown leylandii hedge, the rest of which are to be topped by 3m. The remaining work on the attached estimate is routine maintenance to ensure the health of the trees. Along the right hand side of the drive, it is our intention to replant with Cherry Trees.
