G1 Silver Birch x8 - reduce heights by approx. 5m. Our client would like more light in front garden as well as neighbouring gardening adjacent to their property, which are overshadowed by the trees. Due to the close proximity and size of the gardens mentioned, this is why my clients would like a significant height reduction.

T1 - Lime T2 - Lime T1 is a Lime, 23.5m in ht & with a breast height dia. of approx 1200mm. It is growing against the boundary wall, which has partially collapsed. There is a dense basal growth around the stem making inspection of the base adjacent to the wall impossible. T1 is growing as a pair with T2. It is a mature tree in good condition. The tree contains an awkward 4-way fork at 18m, which is a point of potential structural weakness. There is minor die back at branch extremities & a number of larger dead branches within the crown. There is a dead branch, with a diameter of approx 125mm located over the shed. There is extensive epicormic growth and the crown is congested. T2 is a Lime, 26m in ht & with a breast height dia. of approx 1000mm. The tree is growing as a pair with T1, sharing an overall crown shape. The tree has a reasonable crown structure, but with dense epicormic growth & congested crown. Both trees are in reasonable condition, although they have reached maturity & there is minor die-back beginning at branch extremities. The trees are growing as a pair, with an overlapping crown shape. They are important trees in the landscape. They should be treated in the same way to maintain the overall crown shape. There is a risk of dead wood falling from both trees, & a possibility of branches breaking out of the crown of T1 from the awkward fork noted above. Lime responded well to crown reduction & there is ample branch growth in the crowns of these trees to maintain good crown shape if reduced. It is recommended that the crowns of both trees should be reduced by 20%, with any dead, dying or broken branches being removed. Basal growth around the base of T1 and epicormic growth from both trees should also be removed. This work will reduce the risk of branches being shed and reduce die-back at branch extremities. To make trees safe over the building site and school. Developer is offering to have the work carried out as he wants it to be done even though they belong to the school. Remarks:
