Proposal

T1- Horse Chestnut- The ivy vines on main stem to be severed close to ground level, low sections of canopy to be raised by 3m and all epicormic growth to be removed from the main stem, sections of canopy that grow towards the flats to be reduced back by 1.5m, central live growth to be thinned out- In order to improve light T2- Horsechestnut - sections of the upper secondary stems appear to have signs of significant decay damage, ivy vines to be severed close to ground level, the upper canopy system and upper stems to be subject to a thorough climbing inspection and any significant findings to be reported in writing together with any recommendations and costings for further action G1- yew trees- to trim the side growth on the flats side as required to provide an extra 1m of clearance in order to improve light penetration to the flats T3- Ash- Severe ivy vines near to ground level G2- Plum trees- to cut back and reshape as required to provide a further clearance of 2m from the adjacent flats T4- Yew- reduce and reshape overall by approx 1.5m

The proposed works are limited to pruning the branches closest to the building, by a maximum of 2 metres, to maintain an appropriate clearance. The intention is to retain the trees and their overall appearance and continue to preserve their contribution to the character and amenity of the site. We are not aware of any specific historical significance associated with the trees.

    Hazel There are approximately 10-15 multi-stemmed hazel trees in need of coppicing. Each will be reduced to 1-1.5 metres in height to allow healthy regrowth. Yew and Purple Plumb The purple plumb and yew trees will simply have 2-3 branches removed to raise the canopy to 4 metres to allow vehicular entrance to the property. All of these trees are within the woodland area or well within my boundary. Leylandii The branches overhanging the boundary fence along the 10-12 metre length of the growing raised beds will be trimmed back closer to the fence to allow light and rainfall to the raised beds.
