Planning application

P14/V3045/TCA

Medlar Cottage, Faringdon Road, Shrivenham, Oxon, SN6 8AJ

Decided Vale of White Horse Works to trees in CA

Proposal

T1 - Large Norway Spruce Large Norway Spruce. Tree in later years not particularly good specimen, very close to house for such a large tree. Owner concerned by the amount of movement in storms. In our opinion, no particular aesthetic value as only the top third of the tree has expected appearance. As the lower section has few branches of value, reduction would leave it an unsightly relic of a tree. Therefore recommend removal of tree. Remarks:

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
