T1 - Western Red Cedar T2 - Horse Chestnut Problem with a lovely large Western Red Cedar (I think its a WRC) at one end of the property. It has declined quite rapidly this spring/summer and most if not all of the foliage has turned brown. I am concerned that the tree has died and am not sure what steps I need to take. If it hasn't died then I am keen to see if we can help it recover. I am also keen to avoid any disease spreading to other trees (we have another large WRC at the opposite end of the property). A long horizontal branch on one of our Horse Chestnut trees has broken close to the tree (happened late last week). It hangs over a path in the woodland area and I would like to get the branch taken of completely as it is dangerous at present. I would arrange for a tree surgeon to do the work. I would think he would want to take the branch off close to the trunk and tidy that up to minimise further damage to the tree. Remarks:
