Proposal
River level monitoring and flood warning. Proposal will include the construction of a small hardstand / footing of no more than 1.5m x 1.5m x 0.4m deep located directly behind railings next to the footway within Pontnewenydd Park, Pontypool. On this river side of the boundary fence a small kiosk containing monitoring equipment for river level data will be mounted. Together with a solar panel and a duct running from the kiosk to the river bank edge to house river level monitoring sensors. A locked gated access will also be required for NRW to access the river channel for maintenance of the equipment.
