What refusal means

The process from here

The council refused this application for the reasons set out on the decision notice, which the council portal holds in full. Only the applicant can appeal a refusal; the time limit runs from the decision date and is shorter for householder schemes.

Refusal does not prevent a fresh attempt. Applicants often address the reasons for refusal and resubmit, so a refused scheme is not necessarily the end of proposals for the site.

About prior approval applications

How this application type works

Prior approval applications arise where permitted development rights already grant the principle of the work, such as larger home extensions, changes of use to housing or agricultural buildings. The council may only consider the specific matters set out in the rules, for example transport, flooding or appearance, and in many classes the work may proceed if the council does not respond within the deadline, commonly 56 days.

G13. 2x Scots Pine - Dismantle and fell to near ground level. All material will be chipped and sprayed in the overgrown area. All timber will be stacked and left neatly on site near the base of the trees. T8. 1x Common Ash - Dismantle and fell to near ground level. All material will be chipped into the undergrowth area and left as a pile. All timber will be stacked on site in manageable lengths near the base of the tree. G7. Group of 5x Bird cherry. 1x dead tree within group - Dismantle and fell dead tree to near ground level. All branches will be chipped and sprayed around the base of the surrounding trees. All timber will be removed from site. T19. 1x Silver Birch - No need for removal, tree is showing good vitality with no obvious structural defects present. T22. 1x- Common Hawthorn - Severe and remove ivy to a height of 1m above ground level. T9 1x Scot's Pine - Tree exhibits good overall vitality. There is a slight lean toward the north-east (NE). The north-eastern aspect of the crown features two fused branches, which has resulted in elongated lateral growth extending beyond the main canopy. These branches may present a structural concern due to potential included bark or risk of failure under load. The north eastern canopy aspect is to be reduced from approximately 6m to 4.5m in canopy spread back to suitable pruning points not exceeds 25mm in diameter. Please see attached QTRA report for the justification of the above tree works.
