T1 - Oak x 1 - reduce lateral branches by 2.5m and thin remainder of crown by 10%, prune out deadwood that is more than 50mm in diameter and 300mm long Reasons: the garden is heavily shaded by this and other adjacent trees to the sides and rear. Shade has increased significantly in recent years and my client's garden is now in almost total shade

It is proposed to remove three Beech trees (T1, T2 & T3 on sketch plan) from within the rear garden. Beech T1 has a large Ganoderma bracket on the eastern side of its stem. There is also a small bracket emerging from the south-eastern side of its stem (see photos). When advanced, Ganoderma can result in a tree's mechanical failure of its stem, base or root plate. Beech T1 therefore has a limited safe useful life expectancy. The proposed work will ensure the tree does not fail unexpectedly in the future. Beech T1 and Beech T2 have grown together as a pair. The removal of one tree (T1) will leave the other tree (T2) more exposed during strong winds. The remaining tree will also look unsightly and unbalanced (if left). Beech T3 is dead (exempt) To mitigate, one new standard-sized Beech tree will be planted as close as possible to T2.

TPO760 T50 Mature oak tree has died. We request permission to remove all branches to just leave the main trunk. Over recent years the tree has been progressively later to come into leaf and earlier to lose its' leaves than the adjacent mature oak. This year the tree has not produced any leaves at all. A local tree surgeon, Tom from T's Trees has inspected the tree and does not believe the tree trunk to be hollow. Photo2 shows damage around the trunk, which may be related to the tree's death. This damage was there when the current owners moved in.
