Works: Trees
Refused. Only the applicant can appeal, within the statutory time limit, and a revised scheme can be submitted instead.
Proposal
Two tall larch trees to the front of the house. We propose to remove these trees and replace these with the same species during the planting period. The current trees have been inspected by the council inspectors, who confirm they are in poor condition, although still technically living. The trees are very high in comparison to the house height, they have constantly caused blockages to gutters/drains via pine needles, and constantly dropping branches and acorns everywhere. There is serious concerns of the condition of the trees, as they may cause damage to the house structure if the trees are to to affected with adverse weather conditions, recent excessive winds have raised concerns with the taller section of the trees 'swinging'. Replacement trees of the same species proposed to be installed, to similar location as per existing.

The process from here
The council refused this application for the reasons set out on the decision notice, which the council portal holds in full. Only the applicant can appeal a refusal; the time limit runs from the decision date and is shorter for householder schemes.
Refusal does not prevent a fresh attempt. Applicants often address the reasons for refusal and resubmit, so a refused scheme is not necessarily the end of proposals for the site.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
